| Notes: | Buried in Ecoivres Military Cemetery, 1-3/4 miles N.W. of Maroeuil, 5-1/4 miles W. of Arras, France. (6/2022 McDonald/Tim Martin) His military records state that he was a Major. However the memorail stone in the cemetery states that he was a Lt Col. We have not found military records substantiating that although they may exist. It could have been a posthumous promotion. It could have been a promotion in retirement to assist with pension. It's not know and a bit of a puzzle. Photo provided by Tim Martin - 12 2020 |
